Overture for reed quintet

OVERTURE for Reed Quintet is a piece written in coherence to the instrumentation and rules of the 2024 Calefax Composers Competition. This OVERTURE is segmented into five episodes, each with its own character and theme variation and separated by a repeating transitional motif. It is inspired by the long overture tradition of opera, such as doubly dotted rhythmic figures, and explores elements of Neoclassicism and modern counterpoint that have become very interesting and inspiring to my writing.
